Strengthening Siddhirganj’s Energy Infrastructure
Desh Energy Limited operated a 100 MW diesel-fired power plant at Siddhirganj, Narayanganj, developed to support electricity generation for the Bangladesh Power Development Board.
The facility utilized 96 Caterpillar G3512B diesel generator sets, each rated at 1200 ekW, operating at 1500 RPM, 50 Hz, and 600V for continuous service.
The project was developed under a Power Purchase Agreement with BPDB and supplied electricity to BPDB’s 132 kV Grid Sub-station at Siddhirganj.
The Siddhirganj project formed an important part of Desh Energy’s power generation portfolio before completion of its contract on 11 April 2021.
A Major Power Generation Facility in Siddhirganj
Located in Siddhirganj, Narayanganj, the power plant was developed as a large-scale diesel-based generation facility for supplying electricity to BPDB.
With a total generating capacity of 100.32 MW, the project combined multiple generator units, dependable infrastructure, and continuous operations to support Bangladesh’s power sector.
